We're Being Watched!!!

Goodwill Industries International, Inc. See how one blogger found 119 pieces of silver flatware for $4.38 (with tax) at his local Goodwill. With a little polish, it shined like new.

Hi Everyone,

Did you know Goodwill Industries has a Facebook page? I didn't ... until I heard from Cody in their Members Services Center. They somehow found my "Flatware from Goodwill" post and featured it. If you missed it, you can see it HERE.

That's one of the interesting things about blogging ... you never know who's out there ... reading our posts!

Here's an excerpt from the e-mail I received:

Hey Bill,

Just wanted to let you know that we featured your silver flatware post on our Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/GoodwillIntl) this morning. Great post! I need to find some Wright's Silver Cream, apparently.

Let us know if you have any other great finds in one of our stores!

Thanks,

  10. Goodwill Bill: Okay my friend now you have Goodwill blogging to you. Oh my gosh, we are going to have to get your autograph soon. I guess that means their prices are going to go up, or else they are watching to see what we are doing with our purchases. Actually this is good advertisement for their stores. Love your post. Please pop over and see my Pink Saturday. I had fun today. Country Hugs, Sherry

  11. Hi Bill -- you are right -- you never know who is reading! I wrote a blog post mentioning Wedgwood some months back, and heard back the next day FROM somebody at Wedgwood! I was astounded.

And that's a job I want-- cruising blogs for corporate mentions. :-)

Of course, cruising thrift shops and GW is even more fun. I got some neat stuff yesterday . . . at a thrift shop that is open ONE day in the summer!

  17. Hi Bill,

How neat is that, that they mentioned your great post. I do remember reading it too.
You are right, one does not know who is reading what you post on your blog.

  18. That is really cool! My only problem with some of the thrift stores is that they've begun to look things up and often price things way too high. Thrifting loses it's charm when stores do that - BUT I still LOVE thrifting and often find wonderful finds.

I found an awesome vintage chair last week for $34.99. It's totally vintage shic and I can't wait to finish my room so I can show it off on my blog. It'll need the proper backdrop to be appreciated. :)

    Great post.

  19. Wow! That's amazing!
Well, I guess they enjoyed that post even more than I did! It is wonderful advertisement for them!

I always love when someone finds a treasure for their passion, and then when they do it at a bargain! Whoo-hoo! And then they get a 'shout out' to boot! Kudos!
    All the best,
    Eileen
